Potatoes and Lemonade

That's right...Kara's in TROUBLE! Four months and two weeks along. For a week straight she'd only eat baked potatoes. I start building the nursery in two weeks. Yeehaw!

Idabro

Our pals Erin and Chris visited from Idaho with their bikes and cute kids. Baby Johnny's a local though. We just tossed him in there because he's cool.

Solvang

Solvang is this weird little Danish community on the coast with a lot of bakeries. We chomped a ton of pastries including these aebleskivers. It's a fancy European donut with jam on it. Kara tried on this clog but it was a 1/2 size too big. We also went to a cuckoo clock store.

Wedding at a winery

Our pals Darren and Linda got married at a winery. It was really, really nice. They played this cool Persian dance music. Kara got to baby snatch Roman Tamo.

The Madonna Inn

We went to a wedding down in Santa Ynez on the weekend of May 20th. I'll get to that in a bit. We stayed at the Madonna Inn along the way. They have themed rooms. We stayed in the Portugal room. I guess Portugal is old and funky and smells like smoke. That...or the room was 80 years old. They have nice deserts though and Scarlett found a Playmobil utopia in San Luis Obispo so it worked out nicely.

P-town line drive

On May 13th we went to Paradise for Mother's Day. My mom bought us a wiffle ball set. Ryan took the liberty of blasting my kid in the leg with a line drive. He sent one directly at my face that I dodged at the last minute but I probably deserve it for all the psychological damage I gave to him as a kid. Scarlett took it like a champ and didn't cry though. I myself, would have cried. It was a stinger.

Bug breaks her foot

Scarlett fractured her foot jumping a hurdle in PE. She wasn't too thrilled and the orthopedic booty they gave her just wasn't very stylish. This happened on April 27th. We were worried that she wouldn't be able to tap in the Happy Feet performance but she came through. Tap dogs unite!

The boys turn three!!!

March 27th is a special day for the boys from Boise. Spider and Toulouse celebrated their third birthday and we had a very private, exclusive party. We gave them some tuna with a candle in it and Scarlett made them small hats. Kara thought it stunk as you can see from the picture and she may have referred to us as "dorks" a few times. She's just jealous.

Marissa gets hitched!

We went to our pal Marissa & Luke's wedding in March. It was at the top of this hill that has a complete view of SF. It was a nice, small wedding. Kara got to hold baby Johnny.

Thirty-three!

What could be more exciting than turning 33? Everything? It was actually one of the best birthday's I've ever had because it was simple. We hung out in the city all day and then had a fruit, pudding tart. We also went to Amoeba. I like pudding and records. I got some great presents like my Beehouse tea pot and my brother looks like the paper towel lumberjack guy.

Baby Lucy / San Diego

In February we hauled it on down to San Diego to meet our new niece, Lucy Belle Humphreys. First we stopped in LA and visited Violet at her nice, new house. She's nuts for maps. Try to find Waldo.

This is Lucy. She's a good lookin' kid. Scarlett is a great baby sitter. This will come in handy.

Mission Santa Clara

We headed down to the Mission Santa Clara to do some research for a school project for Scarlett. I guess we need to post a photo of the finished mission that she built. She did a really awesome job on it and she barely let us help her. This was a special day because Kara and I had an awesome argument about parking the car.

Annie!

Ok, I realize we haven't updated this thing in months but we've got a pretty good excuse. I'll get to that later. Scarlett was an orphan in her school's production of Annie.
