Bellies and Bikes

Although these two items are unrelated, I'm excited about both. I'm 100 times more excited about the baby but I was only authorized to post one belly photo and I'm becoming "that guy" who talks about their baby too much. Thirty-one weeks, yesterday. I use the bike to commute to work.

5th Grader

Scarlett is officially a 5th grader. The first day of school was last week.

Wine Train

Kara's sister Kate and her boyfriend Marc came up to visit and we took them up to the wine country. We rode a little tram through the vineyards and got to go into the cave.

Yarnana

Scarlett has been going to summer camp and she knitted this crucial banana one day. We also let her grow a mustache for the summer.

Sweat and Keep It Real

Our pal Woody had a bike race in San Rafael and Scarlett made him this awesome sign. Woody said, "Leave it to the Costallphrey's to dork it up" but he secretly loved the sign.

Tweedledum

Scarlett went to drama camp this summer and also got a job at Hot Dog on a Stick. Just kidding...she didn't go to drama camp! They did a performance of Alice in Wonderland and she was Tweedledum. She got to keep the hat.

Baby Time!

We finally finished (literally) building the nursery. We dry-walled, painted, everything. Unfortunately, Kara caught Spider sleeping on the changing table bed which it turns out is the perfect cat spot. I confessed that I had caught Toulouse there on two separate occasions. They are officially banned.

Little Land R.I.P.

Poor Little Land finally had to be taken down. Little Land is a miniature city made entirely of recycled materials and cheese wax that Scarlett constructed in our TV room over the course of 4 months. It was pretty intensive and there is a story to each building.

Luv 2 Dance

Scarlett had her big Happy Feet dance recital back in June. It was an advanced dancer's showcase and her class was the youngest group to get invited to be in it. I'm writing a petition to get longer, baggier outfits for next year.
